Terms & Conditions

With UK Deed Poll, you are able to change your name or your child's name via the execution of a Deed Poll.

Ordering

UK Deed Poll will only accept orders where it believes that the purpose for which the document has been ordered is honest and legal. UK Deed Poll reserve the right not to accept any Deed Poll applications for names that:

Please complete the order form accurately, as failure to complete all fields correctly could result in delay or non-acceptance of your order. We cannot be held responsible for any incorrect, incomplete or false information supplied.

Where Standard Orders are placed and paid for after 2pm (UK time), we deem them received the following working day. For example, if an order and payment was placed at 14.15 on Monday 20th February, we deem them received the following working day – Tuesday 21st February.

Where Priority Orders are placed and paid for after 2pm (UK time), we deem them received the following working day. For example, if an order and payment was placed at 14.15 on Monday 20th February, we deem them received the following working day – Tuesday 21st February.

Applying on behalf of a child

While a deed poll may be issued for a child where the applicant does not have the consent of everyone with parental responsibility, there is no guarantee that it will be accepted by all organisations, therefore UK Deed Poll will not be held responsible should a deed poll be rejected on these grounds.

When applying for a child’s deed poll without the consent of everyone with parental responsibility, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that when providing the executed deed poll to record holders that you support your application with a letter of consent, which should include information about what reasonable measures you have taken to contact the absent parent.

Payment Terms

Our terms of business are to receive payment in advance, using our secure online service, which is made at the point of the order via WorldPay. The payment will appear on your credit card statement as UK Document Services. Your payment is transacted on WorldPay's website and not on the UK Deed Poll website.

Dispatch

Dispatch terms quoted are given in good faith. Items are dispatched to the address requested on the order form. Items are dispatched using the delivery method selected on the order form. The given dispatch time is based on business / working days, and are counted from the first complete business / working day onwards.

We cannot be held responsible or liable for any event which results from either the delay or the non-delivery of a document. Customers must be aware that items can sometimes be delayed or lost in dispatch.

We cannot be liable for issues beyond our control, such as postal strikes by the Royal Mail. Delivery dates are never confirmed by us. We can only confirm the dispatch dates. Any delays due to environmental issues affecting overseas deliveries are also outside of our control.

Delivery

Delivery is deemed to take affect at the point of dispatch. No liability can be accepted for non-delivery or delay of delivery. We will however endeavour to ensure items reach the customer, and at our discretion will issue additional documentation at no extra charge to the customer. We do not offer and are unable to supply a pick-up service.

Delivery times are estimates in working days and are only a guide. We are not responsible for delays in delivery caused by third parties used for dispatch.

All liability on orders placed (including, but not restricted to, items lost in post, replacement orders, errors and refunds) is confined to within 6 months from the date of purchase.

Cancellations & Amendments

There is no facility to cancel or amend an order once it has been placed. Orders feed directly into our production process, leaving us unable to stop the system. We apologise for the inconvenience.

The following directive relates to the exception to the right to cancel: Regulation 13 (1) (a) "For the supply of services if the supplier has given correct information and the performance of the contract has begun with the consumers agreement before the end of the cancellation period."

Your contract with us is deemed to start at the point of order, and as such the above regulation applies. UK Deed Poll do not offer the right to cancel once the order has been placed and paid for.
